My father Robert Lee Weaver served in the US Army in combat in the South Pacific/Philippines warfront.
He attained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged.
Originally from Greenville NC and born in 1919, he migrated to Durham with the Weaver family.
He was a 1937 graduate of Hillside High School, attended North Carolina College and played on the tennis team.
He and other family members worked in Durham's dry cleaning industry and finally at Weaver's Cleaners on historic Fayetteville Street.
