Reverend Dr. Anna Pauline “Pauli” Murray
41 years ago Pauli made some more waves. The ripples are still being felt today. She opened another powerful door for Black women as the change agent that she was. .
On this day January 8, 1977 Reverend Dr. Anna Pauline “Pauli” Murray became the first ordained female African American Episcopal priest, Murray was also the first African American woman to receive a J.S.D from Yale Law School in 1965 and helped found the National Organization for Women in 1966.
